Living along the bank of the Grand River on Abrigador Trail, we are now official river rats--meaning that we live in a floodplain. But the term means more than that since my initials spell rat--and the reflections are ones both in my mind and on the water.

Kayla stopped by the Gardens a few minutes ago and of course I had to tell her my memories of her birth story, including my worries after I arrived at the accident scene where Carlton and Melissa had been hit by another car. The next day she was born two and a half months early. Here is the that tiny preemie today, just before she and John went out to lunch. Before they left she had to tell me about her latest boy friend. He sounds like a very nice young man, a year ahead of her in school and Seventh-day Adventist. He strictly follows Sabbath rules so that's perhaps a good sign.
