An Afternoon with Goats
My only pet as a child was a white Saanen goat that followed me around like a dog when I went on hikes on our farm through the fields and woods and along the Yellow River. Yesterday a young couple came into the Gardens to shop and look around, and as we chatted I learned they had goats. They invited us to take a drive north to their little "farm" just outside Kent City. So this afternoon we visited Heather and Dave and saw their ducks and chickens and goats. Above is a picture of Heather and the chickens. Below, both of us are feeding the goats. As I was leaving the goat pen, one of them jumped out ahead of me and within seconds was on top of a shed roof. What a great time it was.
