This appears to be a non-descript winter photo of Carlton Gardens. Its significance is that it is taken on a Friday when the top national story is the massive storm from Milwaukee and Chicago to New York and Boston. We have completely missed the punch. Some places just north of Chicago got 18 inches of snow yesterday, as was true of southern Michigan, Detroit, Cleveland, and further south than Indianapolis. But this time we got lucky. Sunshine in January in Grand Rapids is rare. Here we have it, though admittedly so cold that I rushed inside to warm my fingers after snapping the picture.
