Living along the bank of the Grand River on Abrigador Trail, we are now official river rats--meaning that we live in a floodplain. But the term means more than that since my initials spell rat--and the reflections are ones both in my mind and on the water.

Loons at the River
Last night John spotted a pair of loons right out in front of our house
diving for food. With barking dogs and noise in general, our river front
has never before hosted loons---at least visible to us. Then this
morning I caught sight of two pairs. What a treat! I snapped a picture.
