Living along the bank of the Grand River on Abrigador Trail, we are now official river rats--meaning that we live in a floodplain. But the term means more than that since my initials spell rat--and the reflections are ones both in my mind and on the water.

A Big Day
Yesterday Carlton and Kayla came over with steaks and all the fixings for a Father's Day celebration for John. After dinner and a nice hike we went over to Melissa's house for Kayla's 15th birthday celebration with her other grandparents as well. Here is Kayla posing with Mom and Dad and her cake.
We then stopped to visit with John's mother at the nursing home and after that out to see our other 3 grandkids and their folks---a busy day. Another memorable aspect of the day was my signing copies of my latest book contract from Baker Publishing House. The title is The Biographical Bible: From Adam and Eve to John of Patmos. I mailed the copies in this morning. It's a big project but I'm having a great time working on the early chapters.
