HOME TOWN NEWSPAPER
Our kayaking the Yellow River made news recently in the Spooner Advocate, my home-town newspaper.  "Memories of the Yellow River " by Bill Thornley is drawn from an interview as well as my own blog, Yellow River Almanac.  I wish we lived closer than 12 hours away.  Once a year is not often enough to get back home.  Maybe someday when we retire and have more time.

Six Sunny Days in the Southland
We are now back home from a wonderful trip to North Carolina to see daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Bob, and from there on to Gatlinburg, Kentucky where we hiked and spent the night; then on to one of our favorite places, Cumberland Falls, where we did some more hiking and spent the night in the lodge, and finally on to Indianapolis, where I gave a lecture, and then on home again.  We stopped along the way and purchased some treasures to sell at the Gardens.  Below are photos of John, Laura, and Bob, and one of me looking at the beautiful Cumberland Falls.
